FRENCH RIVIERA MARATHON DES ALPES-MARITIMES NICE-CANNES

Article 1 - Organization
The 1er French Riviera Marathon des Alpes Maritimes Nice-Cannes is organized
on the 9th november, 2008 by Azur Sport Organisation, association Loi
1901, affiliated to the Fédération Française d’Athlétisme.

Article 2 - Course
The marathon mesures 42.195 km and respects the International regulations
for road races (IAAF) as well as the national requirements outlined in
the road race charter (FFA).
ASO will organize the Maraton on the next 9th november, 2008 at 8.45 AM
on the Promenade des Anglais, face to the Théâtre de Verdure
in Nice. The arrival will be judged in Cannes face to the Palais des Festivals
et des Congrès. The map of the course is available on www.marathon06.com.
Article 3 - Subscriptions
The race is opened to all athletes licensed or non licensed born in 1989
and before.
The entries can be efectuated :
- via Internet on www.marathon06.com
or on www.sport-up.fr,
- either by mail with the oficial entry form.
None entry will be accepted on the spot or by phone.
Every file will systematically be refused if it does not include the following
documents :
- Oficial entry form completed
- Entry Fees (payment by credit card or by cheque adressed to Azur Sport
Organisation),
- Valid medical certificate
- Result proof over 2007/2008 to get “< 3h00” preferential
bib.
Be careful : Only the medical certificates
(dated from less than one year by the D-day) delivered by a doctor will
be accepted and mentioning “does not present contraindication to
the practice of running in competition”.

The n° 99-223 law, relating in the protection of
health and anti-dope fight for athletes was voted in the National Assemblee
on the 23th march, 1999.
Due to these new dispositions, all the French and Foreign runners will
have the obligation to provide a valid medical certificate delivered by
an oficial doctor after a medical examination.
Article 4 – Preferential
bib
The organization gives the possibility to the competitors to get preferential
bibs under 3 hours in exchange of performance proof under 3 hours realized
on a marathon over 2007/2008.
Article 5 - Classification
« Scratch » general classification as well as age categories
will give distinct classification in according to the regulation of the
road race charter (FFA). We remind you that some controls will be effectuated
during the course to insure optimum race regularities.
Article 6 - Entries
Each entry is considered as non-transferable and final and implies full
acceptance of the rules. No refund will be made whatever the reasons except
if cancellation insurance has been subscribed to. No registration transfers
will be allowed, whatever the reasons. Any person retroceding his bib
to a third party will be held responsible in case of an accident arising
or provoked by this third party during the competition. The organisation
is exempt from all responsibility in case of an accident in this type
of situation. (see article 17 of the Oficial regulation). The bib must
be entirely visible and worn during the whole race.
Article 7 – Collection
of the bibs
The collection of the bibs will be effectuated from the next 6th november,
2008 until the next 8th november, 2008 in the village Running Expo Marathon
in Nice. Bibs will be available upon presentation of collection bib ticket
and an identity card. This ticket will be sent by the organization by
post from the 1st october, 2008 to each runner whose entry will be considerated
as complete one.
None bib will be send by the post or given on the spot on the 9th november,
2008 before the start.
Article 8 – The Official
jury
The F.F.A. constitutes an official jury whose decision is final.
The jury is assisted by official race judges and race stewards appointed
by the F.F.A. Refreshment posts will be located every 5 km and on the
finish line. Sponge-posts will be located every 5 km from km 7.5. The
runner declares on his honour to not anticipate the start and to run the
whole race before to cross the finish line.
Article 9 – Security in
the race
The organization and the prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes will insure
the scurity of the runners and the spectators during the event.
Medical safety will be under control of a security association
agree by the prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes notably through security
posts located every 5 km. Medical services may stop any competitor from
continuing the race for medical reasons. Every runner put “out of
the race” by medical services and who wish to pursue the race, will
run under his own responsability in case of accident. The organisation
will be exempt from all responsibility in case of an accident in this
type of situation.
Article 10
The runners will be permitted up to 6h00 for completion of the course
up to the finish line.
After the « end of race » vehicule has passed, competitors
should respect the Highway Code and be considered “out of the race”
and
Every runner will be put “out of the race” and the organisation
will be exempt from all responsibility in case of an accident in this
type of situation.
Article 11 – ChampionChip
system
The ChampionChip system will be used for timing. Each competitor will
be given a chip when collecting starting documents. Check points will
be placed at the start, on the course and on the finish line, to control
each competitor's time. Competitors failing to follow the course will
be disqualified. Chips must be returned to the organization after the
race. In case of withdrawal or cancellation, chips must be sent to the
organization 15 days after the race, at the latest. Each non-returned
chip will be charged 15 euros and the competitor will be disqualified
from the event.
Article 12 - Insurance
Civil liability : The organization has
taken out a civil liability insurance policy in accordance with current
legislation. This contract insures against damage caused by members of
the organization and every competitor from the French Riviera Marathon
des Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes.
Marathon competitors. Written proof can be provided upon request.
« Individuelle accident » : The
organization highly recommands to the runners who did not have personal
insurance covering the corporal damages in particular for the non-licensed
runners who belong to the sporting federation, to subscribe to an individual
« insurance accident » for their participation to the race.
Article 13 – Protection
of personal pictures
Competitors expressly and exclusively grant to A.S.O. and its assigns,
the irrevocable right to use a competitor's name, likeness, biography,
factually or otherwise in connection with the production, the distribution
and exploitation of the pictures related to the Marathon, world-wide in
any and all devices, media, whatsoever, now known or hereafter known,
for the entire duration of the protection period currently awarded by
legislative or regulatory bodies, court decisions and/or arbitrages in
any country, and currently existing of future international conventions,
including eventual prolongations which may be made to this duration.
Article 14 - Circulation in
the course
Bicyclettes or motorised vehicules are strictly forbidden on the course
except for the organization staff.
Article 15 – Abandonment
Each runner who want to abandon, will have the obligation to go to provision
posts or safety posts to deliver his bib and his chip to the organization
staff.
Article 16 – Reward Ceremony
The Reward Ceremony will be organized in Cannes after the finish. A price
list will reward the 10 best men athletes and the 5 best women athletes
as well as the 3 best women and men according to the age categories.
The prices will be delivered only to the runners who will be present in
the Ceremony, except for the runners who will be away because of the anti-dope
controling.
The runners who will cross the finish line in the previous delay time
will receive a ”finisher” reward.
Article 17 – Cancellation
Insurance
Each runner has the possibility to subscribe to a cancellation insurance
which allows them to cancel their entry immediately whatever the reason.
This cancellation insurance implicates the entire refund of the entry
except for the online transaction fees.
Article 18 - Wheelchair
The race is opened to wheelchair athletes. All the wheelchair athletes
licensied at “Fédération Française Handisport”
will benefit from a postponed start and will start at 8.40 AM.
The runners who suffer from other disabilities will start obligatory at
8.45 AM as well as the other runners.
The participation to the French
Riviera Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes implicates the express
approval of the Official Regulation by every runner.
