The French Riviera Marathon Nice-Cannes received in 2013 by the Olympic Committee and Sports department, the label Agenda 21 " Sustainable Development, the sport is committed ".

>The fact that the race is 100% along the sea front is a major asset for the French Riviera Marathon Nice-Cannes. The organizers and runners must therefore do their best to preserve the coastal environment. For 10th edition, we are asking everyone to get involved to minimize the impact of this event on the environment. Water wasting, Greenhouse effects,... for each problem, there's a solution.

Waste management

Get involved to reduce and control our waste production:

« Recycling areas » will be available after every and sponge station. Runners will have to throw their waste in specifics areas which will be clearly signed

Sorting and recycling
Volunteers will recycle all waste that is produced. 57 000 1.5L bottles will be gathered for recycling!

Water management

Water quantity will be managed at the refreshment station.

Beakers will be used instead of bottles, to avoid the wastage and disposal on the race course.

Refreshment stations every 2.5km! Runners will be able to take on plenty of fluids at the specific areas.


All printed materials have been produced in order to be reused year on year. We also choose our providers according to their environment policies.
